Formerly known as RTH Martial Arts & Wellness or Riverside Taekwondo Hapkido
Martial arts programs
RTH Martial Arts has been teaching the New Hampshire area to defend itself for over 25 years. Our Masters and Instructors are world certified through the World Taekwondo Federation and the Korea Hapkido Assocation in Seoul, South Korea.
The focus of the Taekwondo program is to teach fundamental self-defense techniques for youth, men and women. Students in the program develop powerful striking and kicking techniques, takedowns, and defense against armed and unarmed attacks. Students also refine their abilities through practice of traditional forms and breaking techniques.
Students learn at their own pace, developing confidence and ability in a range of techniques, while also getting into excellent physical condition.
Hapkido is a Korean combat oriented art. Its origins lie with the fighting style of the ancient hwarang warriors, the buddhist elite youth order of the Silla kingdom.
The emphasis in training at RTH is on honoring our classical tradition while also ensuring effective combat self-defense techniques designed to meet the ever-changing challenges of today. Students develop authentic and practical techniques in a safe, fun and supportive environment.
Hapkido is a comprehensive and eclectic art incorporating extensive training in safe falling techniques, joint locks and traps, throws and takedowns, chokes and nerve holds, striking and kicking and weapons training.
We tailor our hapkido program to ensure that a wide range of students can train safely and develop effective self-defense techniques based on their physical capabilities and body type.
Training in the dojang is augmented by an extensive range of RTH produced training videos and manuals.
