Carrying on the ministry of Jesus Christ

What we celebrate

The church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love, and discipling the nations — baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.

  • Child Dedication is a ceremony in which Christian parents (and sometimes entire families) stand before the church and make a commitment to raise their child(ren) according to the Word of God. Christian parents who dedicate a child(ren) are making a promise to the Lord to do everything within their power to raise the child(ren) in a godly way until they can make a decision for themselves (1 Samuel 1:11, Luke 2:22).

  • Water baptism is an act of faith and obedience to the commands of Christ. Baptism is a symbol of Christ’s burial and resurrection. Our entrance into the water during baptism identifies us with Christ’s death on the cross, His burial in the tomb and His resurrection from the dead.Baptism declares that you are a follower of Jesus Christ. It is a public confession of your faith in, and commitment to, Jesus Christ. It is the next step after salvation through repentance and faith and is an important foundation for Christian life. It is a symbol of your new life as a Christian. We bury the “old life” and we rise to walk in a “new life”. Baptism does not make you a believer; it shows that you already are one! Baptism does not “save” you; only your faith in Christ does that. (Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17).

  • God established monogamous marriage between a male and female as the foundation of the family, and as an example of the spiritual marriage with Jesus as the groom, and His church as His bride. (Genesis 2:24; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Timothy 1:9-11).
